Better late than never! Another year, another recap of all the great (and not so great) shows we’ve watched in the past year!
I really enjoyed the first two seasons of Westworld. There was so much in there that I liked: the actors, the world building, the soundtrack, … I was super pumped to start watching season 3. I’ve enjoyed the first two episodes so far (although that second episode felt a bit too rushed in my opinion). I think both Aaron Paul and Vincent Cassel will be great additions to the cast, and the soundtrack is still great :)
If you have followed this blog for a while, it won’t come as a surprise that I’m a big fan of Ramin Djawadi and his work. Prison Break, Westworld, Iron Man, Game of Thrones, and many others. If you’ve watched TV series or movies in the past 10 years, you must have heard some of his work.
Today I’ve put together a playlist of some of my favorite tracks across all 8 seasons of Game of Thrones. You can listen to it right here on this blog, but if you use Google Play Music, you can also check the playlist I created here.
This is a blast from the past. It came up in a conversation this weekend. I had to listen to them again today! :)
I discovered Billy Ze Kick as a kid, they were a small band but had catchy tunes that I quickly memorized. I don’t think I really caught up on what the lyrics were really about until much later.
The song below, Mangez moi, was their biggest hit and talks about a small group of friends going on a hike in the rain to find magic mushrooms.
It’s been 26 years, but it’s still as catchy as ever and I still remember the lyrics. Enjoy!
BBC’s Essential mixes never fail to deliver. Today, I’m listening to NERO. The whole mix is worth listening, but I think my favorite track is their remix of Radiohead’s Everything in its right place. Enjoy!
Here is the full mix as well!
I’ve been listening to Bonobo’s whole work for the past few days. It’s hard to pick a favorite but here you go :)
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is probably my favourite movie of the trilogy. The trilogy itself pales in comparison to The Lord Of The Rings, but the first movie of the Hobbit trilogy had the right tone, and was centered on what made The Hobbit book so good: it was Bilbo’s adventure and was focussed on Bilbo and his companions, the dwarves.
When the second season of Westworld ended, I was really wondering where they would take the show. A page had been turned, but I wasn’t sure where they would go from there.
After 11 years, it’s time to wrap this up!
I’ve blogged a bit about The Expanse in the past, mostly to tell you about the TV series that I’ve grown to really enjoy. I’m also a big fan of the books the series is based on. I’ve read all 7 books published so far, and have been waiting impatiently for the 8th book to become available.
Today is the day! :) Tiamat’s Wrath is the 8th and penultimate book in the series, and you can now purchase it in all formats.
