I have installed a few WordPress blogs since I know this blogging platform. I have tried and install many different plugins as all blogs were different and had different aims. WordPress has the power to provide you tools for all kind of websites, from the traditional blog to the online shop.
However there are a few plugins that I always install at first. I believe them to be the core of WordPress. Who knows, maybe one day we will find them included in every WordPress installation!
WordPress 2.7 is going to be another huge improvement of our favorite blogging software. This new release will include important changes, especially with the comments. To tell the truth this point of WordPress has in my opinion been neglected in the latest releases, but the next version will definitely get WordPress back on track.
But WordPress 2.7 is not just about comments. Let’s see more about WordPress improvements:
Have you never been bored of having to look for the Admin panel on your blog? Whether you add the “wp-admin” in the address bar or click “Admin” in the META widget (not everyone keeps it), that is time-consuming? Why not having an Admin bar directly on your blog page, with all the useful and nice WordPress options?
Your portfolio is your online avatar. it represents you, your work and your experience. It should consequently be unique and show what you can do. That is what potential clients want to see, and they should see it quickly as in general a reader will make his mind in the first seconds he discovers your website and get a perception about after a few pages.
You should consequently find a way to push your best content to the front, make it accessible, simple, and still unique and eye-catching. Can you do that, and more important, how will you do it? Will you choose a Flash design, impressive and showing all your creativity ? A simple single-page portfolio getting to the point quickly? Or rather a CMS styled portfolio displaying your work and all your coding knowledge?
