The WordPress team is looking for a designer ready to design icons for all WordPress menus. That would 13 icons in total (one for each of the main navigation sections, plus a matching pair of list/excerpt view icons for the table screens like Edit Posts).
However this will not be opened to all WordPress fans. You’ll need to show good references in icon design of course! So why not give it a try?
Do you remember Kubrick, the now famous WordPress theme? It was a great springboard for its designer! Being THE WordPress icons designer will be as great for the chosen one!
By the way as we speak of WordPress design and of Kubrick, I always thought the default WordPress theme should be changed. It was great for a while but I think WordPress deerves something more actual today. What is your opinion about it? Ian Stewart from Themeshaper even launched a vote earlier this year to check what would be the people’s choice for the next WordPress theme. Results were interesting, in Ian’s article you will find the contest winners and their blog posts about the next WordPress theme.
